Payday loan provider Wonga need to pay Р’Р€2.6m in compensation after giving letters from non-existent law offices to customers in arrears.
The letters threatened action that is legal however the law offices had been false. In certain cases Wonga included charges of these letters to clients’ records.
The town watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), stated 45,000 customers will be paid.
Wonga has apologised and stated the strategy ended almost four years back.
The town regulator has told the BBC it offers sent a file towards the authorities.
